About
Maia Joy (she/her) is a queer biracial poet, musician, and educator from Boston, MA. She is currently pursuing a dual Bachelors of Music/Bachelors of Music Education at the University of Maryland, College Park, with minors in Creative Writing (poetry concentration) and Arts Leadership. She is a proud member of the Jimenez-Porter Writers' House with a poetry concentration, and works as a student outreach and social media coordinator.

A 2021 Best-of-the-Net nominee and several-time Silver Key recipient from the Boston Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, Maia has been published in over a dozen unique print and digital editions. She was the former Director of Music/Film and Public Relations at Ogma Magazine until its retirement in the fall of 2021, and is the Founding Director of Terra Phi Media, a new music media organization. As an editor, she has worked with numerous clients on projects ranging from college application essays, final theses, and professionally published chapbooks.
Maia rotates between living with her family in Massachusetts and with her best buddies in Washington, D.C. When she's not making music, teaching, or writing, you can find her in the kickboxing gym, giving unsolicited tarot card readings at her kitchen table, or playing with her three obnoxiously large dogs.
